Author Directions

As you may have recognized in the previous email the symposium organizers will provide you with the opportunity to present your research twice during this event 1) an oral presentation and 2) a poster presentation. We have found in the past that the evening reception provides great networking opportunities and room for discussion over the topics heard during the day. Because of the unique setting of this student symposium we believe that the poposed combination will be in the best interest of the authors.

Since this year is the third time we will have this combined presentations we rely on your feedback to finalize the program. We would greatly appreciate your opinion on having a poster session during the reception in addition to the oral presentations ealier during the day.

Please verify your information on the pre-ORS website.

INSTRUCTIONS for ORAL PRESENTATION:
Podium presentations will be 10 minutes long, followed by 5 minutes for discussion.  Presentations will need to be uploaded to the organizers prior to the symposium. Please use the www.yousendit.com service to transfer the files. The service is free and allows sending large data files. Sending us the file ahead of time will ensure that the presentation will work properly on the provided computer. The file format will need to be compatible with Microsoft PowerPoint (Office XP of Vista).
Deadline for submitting the presentation is Monday, February 25th.
No personal laptops will be allowed.

INSTRUCTIONS for POSTER PRESENTATION:

In addition to the podium presentation, we would like to invite you to present your research in a poster format during the dinner reception. This combination of podium and poster presentation is unique to this forum and we believe it will provide much needed networking opportunity for the presenting researcher. Please see the attached file for instructions on how to prepare a poster.
